GROOVECAR OFFERS iPHONE/iPAD APP

HAUPPAUGE, NY, June 30 –GrooveCar, the automotive resource service based here, has launched a new iPhone/iPad App that will help credit union and potential credit union members facilitate and expedite anything and everything related to new and pre-owned car buying, selling, and financing.

Moreover, the new Credit Union-branded tool is free and provides users with many of user-friendly tools and resources found on the GrooveCar.com website.

The App is divided into six sections or screens thusly:

Home Screen enables the user to click on a button and access any of the five other sections, including an option to watch GrooveCar videos and see the full array of GrooveCar offerings. At the same time, it affords Credit Union members – GrooveCar’s primary constituency -- special links to see current specials offered by their credit union, the ability to shake the device to watch a GrooveCar introductory video as well as to sign on the GrooveCar Web site – www.groovecar.com – with a Facebook connect. This assumes the user has a Facebook (www.facebook.com) account, which is easily gotten if this is not the case.

An entire section on pre-owned vehicles allows the user to peruse the full GrooveCar inventory by make, model, year, price range and location, the latter determined by the user’s zip code or current GPS location. Moreover, it enables sorting of the inventory, viewing car details even in landscape mode, contacting a dealer about the vehicle and even to save (the information) to "your garage" – a place to return to at another time.

Of course, there is a New car section, where you can select different make/models to build your car with different options, colors and styles as well as to send the “built” car to the dealership for a quote.

The Credit Union section enables the user to view all of the participating credit union’s services, permits contacting them (CU’s as well as dealers) via email or telephone, offers the capability of applying directly for a loan and even to secure pre-approval for an auto loan before going to the dealerships. Further, members can easily access the information at the dealer’s facility or lot.

The Dealer section makes the search for GrooveCar’s network of dealers by make and location even easier. Not only does it show the dealer on an easy-to-view map, but you can see their entire Web site, their inventory as well as the best contact coordinates.

The My Garage section serves as a repository of the user’s "garage" of saved cars as well as their profile.

"Providing a mobile tool for our credit union partners and their members was very important for us. We had two goals when developing this App. The first was to create an App that would live up to the reputation of our website and buying service. Secondly was to help credit unions capture more auto loans through both the direct and indirect channels". said David Jacobson, GrooveCar’s founder and president. "This is very unique to anything else currently out there – and for many reasons. In addition, our call center will provide support to iPhone App users -- a very rare offering. And, for those without an iPhone or iPad, they can easily visit our website."

RD Systems, Inc., a New York City-based software development firm (www.rdsystemsinc.com) teamed up with the privately-held company’s management to create and render the application.
